I would think the pain of a bite would be indication enough.
Let me ask you one question. Is your money that good. Will it buy you forgiveness. Do you think that it could. I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul.

Yes it did Jonah. The BJ's were about for a time mid to late 70's. Herons were just before. I seem to remember that they weren't particularly reliable. Water I think. They weren't on the scene for that long. Still very retro and possibly worth a few bob.

I remember when these indicators were first advertised in Angling Times. As with a lot of other indicators that relied on mechanical contacts, moisture was the enemy.

Antenna alarms were and are godawful rubbish. I had two of these ogres and they didn't even have the decency to be aerodynamic and hefty enough to throw any distance. But retro is and all that.

Forget the bite alarm, the rod is a sealey carpmaster/specialist, my first proper carp rods. As was the fashion of the day, mine got painted matt black to make them "ultra cult". Happy days! :laughs:

Wow that was a blast from the past. No it was a French lake.
Used to fish that lake you mentioned in the 90's. I would have bought the house and F'offed the fisherman.
What a wonderful set up he had. Back then, Apparently! the carp loved tiger nuts :suspect:
We only caught on chopped boiles :clown:
If it's still going I'd hate to fish it now with the modern carper
Good nights were had in the pub by the canal :vdrunk:

I used to fish Cuttle Mill when Mr Brewer and his wife ran it. Yes they had a good set up. I used to fish it pre boilies. I've many a funny tail from fishing there. I was keen, and as a 17 year old once 'motored' down from Yorkshire (pre M18) fully laden with tackle on a 50 cc moped :pipe:. Happy days.
