There are cheaper alternatives out there that are good enough for just messing about with. I’ve got an SJ4000, its HD and WiFi so it links to my phone to download my videos. I originally got it for my motorbike but now use it for my fishing on occasion. Video quality is pretty good !

Good enough for me, I'd post a video but dont think I can on here ?!? I've got a v twin so it's got quite a lot of vibration which seem to ga e the odd little effect but not too bad. It was really good in low light conditions.

Re: GoPro camera
Millions of people get GoPros for Christmas and birthdays and never use them. Look for second hand ones on eBay, facebook marketplace or even Cash Converters.
Even the newer models go for bugger all. If its your first time using something like this, I would recommend getting one with a screen.
It makes life was easier than trying to use the camera just with the 2 buttons. If you have the screen you will actually want to use the camera, instead of dreading it!
Also an extremely cheap upgrade for fishermen using them is a polarised lens. it just pops on the usual lens, takes all the glare off the water and makes the colours vivid.
Very cheap also.
