Trumpet bum - Bug ID

Wee lad at the fishery mad into fishing and wildlife bugs and all sorts. Came up with a bucket of goodies. Newts dragonfly nymphs, few different types of caddis and one of these things. He calls them trumpet bums. Im oretty sure thats not their real name :grin: what the hell is it ?

Didnt notice but the wee man was trying to feed a massive one by hand :lol:

Well weird , spends two years in a pond , then turns into a massive water beetle that can swim and FLY , have seen ones take off out the pond when carp fishing
