Crooks

Post by davelumb »

Some carved and painted crooks/sticks I've seen have been a bit like a child made them. But these two caught my eye today. Fitting moorland subjects too.

I'd guess they are both by the same stickmaker. I also like the hare best, but the curlew is a clever idea.

Not a stick. But this 'sheep' impressed me!

An old boy that used to get in my local made them. His personal stick had a tench carving on the handle and I pestered him for it for ages.

He was one of the six on our table that played 5's and 3's.

I miss 5's and 3's

Not the same quality as the hare and curlew, but another interesting stick.
