Anyone know what this little critter is? Had to blow the pic up a lot!

Is that the aphid that is responsible for destroying Leylandii hedges :scratch:

Right click on a pic and there's a "search google for image" option.

A mini Shield Bug?

Certainly has characteristics of an Aphid.
What diameter was the rod its sat on?

It's fence wire!

Smaller than the shield bugs I've seen and bigger than the aphids I'm familiar with. :scratch:

Fence wire, and there was me thinking it was a rod section.

Some species of Aphid for sure.

I had a quick look on British bugs website, yep I was bored! Could be a nymph of a bug? Looks similar to the green nymphs.Both pics are from the same webpage.
