Plenty of tree rats scoffing acorns today. This one looked small and was quite approachable, which made me think it was a youngster.

Hi Dave , they are very hard to capture you have done well to catch them ,i have been trying to photo some red squirrels in a wood nearby but they are to quick difficult to get close to ,so i put down a trial camera and some nuts for 2 days and nights but only have had a fox after a mouse , a cat, many birds and a quick flash of a squirrel, just need to spend more time .

Hi Kenny
Not that I've tried photographing reds, I do know people who have.
I think greys are bolder than reds and give you a little more time to get a lens on them. Still have to be a bit sharpish though!

The greys round here are almost tame in some places.

Loads of woodland walks so they're probably quite used to people??

Have a look at Squirrel Hunter on you tube, he gets plenty of decent shots of greys in various woodlands

I was laying a patio for a customer in the middle of a housing estate a few years ago and a grey would run the full length of the terrace on the wall, I mean the vertical wall between the ground floor and upstairs.
