He's a Lonk. The only Lancastrian breed of sheep, originating from the moors of Haslingden and Rossendale..

This week's breed is the Masham - a cross between a Teeswater and a Swaledale or Dalesbred.

In 1996 a friend sold a Suffolk ram (tup) for over £1,000.
It not a Supreme Champion of anything near, but it was a quad, of triplets.
The Farmer on the BBC programme made £22,000 from the sale of just 4 of his Valais Blacknose, the programme is worth watching simply to see his reaction after the hammer went down at 10,000, because he'd said he would take it home if it didnt make its reserve of 4,000 guineas.

Mind you, I saw a sheep dog sell for 14k guineas back in February. To a phone buyer in the USA.
