Like the bottom one with the town in the background Dave

These ones were grazing on a local nature reserve a while back, think theyre Hebridean sheep, which is apparently an ancient breed....

Cheers Mark. It's a theme I keep returning to, having a town or similar in the background. I'd like a mill chimney, but there aren't many of them left. So wind turbines etc. have to do.

Those are indeed Hebrideans. They're popular with small holders, for conservation grazing, for training sheepdogs, and wool fanatics like the fleeces!

The same farmer apparently has some highland cattle too but i`ve not seen them so far. Stacks of sheep (and alpacas) up along the coast where we go looking for owls. I`ll have to try and snap some pics sometime, without getting run over on the busy main road

Those sheep photos above were next to a busy road. The narrow verge I was walking along was strewn with bits of cars. :afraid:

Ah ha, someone getting the eye

The capped gate post is something you don't see very often, it being an old tele pole just shows how far advanced farming community was in what the climate wannbe's now refer to as recycling.

As for he Hebs, nice coat just not much meat beneath but what there is tastes pretty decent.

Keep up the good work :camera: and a Happy New Year. :handshake:

Coming up later. The rescue of Fiona!

Fiona’s living at a family farm park by Dumfries, the animal rights lunatics have been protesting outside it, signs saying Fiona shouldn’t be used for entertainment
They're f****n' mentalists! :laughs:

Here it is. The proof copies of my latest book of Lonk photos. Already taking orders on FB - and a request for a similar book of photos of Gritstones for which there'd be at least 5 sales! :laughs:

Kilnsey Crag in Wharfedale. There's probably a climber or two on the crag. It makes a great setting for the show.

Sheep trivia: Some say the name Lonk is derived from a type of stone found near Rochdale that's called Blue Lonky!

Noticing that :lumby: now has a FB page, I sent him a request and joined it. My FB feed is now awash with woolly critters! (Rather like my YouTube videos were, after clicking on one of his video links. :dizzy: ).

My concern is that sheep might be a bit like cricket. You don't think you're interested, but an hour later you're still watching it . . . . :laughs:

I can hardly wait. :laughs:

Sadly, the fields I back on to don't have sheep grazing on them these days, only cows and bullocks. The farmer reckons they've been too wet for them in recent years, so all the sheep are now further up the hill.

(I don't miss the racket they make during lambing though!).
