Not seen any swallows yet but seen my first bumblebees other day. They'll be wondering what the hell the snow is all about

Saw dozens of swallows over a trout water one evening last week in the southern lake district.

Only saw first ones last week in Kent - -5C frost here last night knackering pear bloom!
14 April was cuckoo day according to my mum - but I've only once heard one earlier than 14th - expect they'll be a week or two late this cold spring...

2nd April saw swallows and sand martins on a local gravel pit.

Saw first swallow on Saturday 10th April, seen first sand Martin in March! About the 26th I think they were really early
