Been fortunate to photograph this bird for a while now, I think I now have an image I really like.

What's the lighting set-up?
Cloning out the two r/h catch-lights might be worth a try.
A little more rim light camera right would have lifted him from the background more and the shadows are a bit harsh on the log.

I've been messing about with flash at home. It's a steep learning curve and there always seems to be just one more gadget that's required!

If I'd known what I needed to start with I'd have saved hundreds! Still, I sold four lenses and had to spend the money on something...
