A reel

Still got a lot to learn about this artificial lighting lark. Like attention to detail and patience!

Total photographic philistine that I am, I can't see what's wrong with that or how you could improve it with what you will learn

It's probably beyond my ability and equipment at the moment.

For one thing, the bottom edge of the handle needs a little light to make it stand out more from the background for one thing. And for another the shadow of the cross bar on the line is too harsh.

Photoshop could fix those

Nor me. I use it for resizing, cropping and adjusting brightness/contrast and that's about it, so I actually use about 0.1% of the functionality of Photoshop :laughs:

In the hands of folk adept with it though, it's amazing what can be done.

I don't use it at all. I use Lightroom (which is like being in a darkroom making prints but easier!) for processing and resizing, and Affinity Photo for adding borders, making logos and stuff. I can't be arsed with all the processing stuff that can be done in Photoshop/Affinity. :laughs:

I've just had another quick fiddle and opened up the shadows a bit in Lightroom.

This was it before any fiddling.

You still can't see the black cat in the background . . . . :clown:

For most people a phone camera is all they need these days. There's a lot of computer wizardry going on in cameras in phones these days, and pictures always look 'better' on small screens than big one. Small size photos hide a lot of flaws.
