I was out luring for Chub today, on a club ticket I've had for 21 years now. Served on the club committee for a while and what an eye opener that was. The old guys are now sadly long gone, time catches us all. But I still have fond memories of those local guys, just general angler's. The meat and drink of a club, trotting a float for what ever came along.
So I looked down and saw my shadow on the water and it made me chuckle. Will this be me in years to come, when I'm but dirt and dust? Just a shadow of the past. Sometimes, I roam about and still expect to see the characters of the past, you don't really see them, but in my mind's eye, certain swims bring back a memory of different anglers.
To me that's fishing the memories.
