Very good Dave ...any target species this coming year? I would nominate the weasel, only seen 1 in the last 40 years and that was a few weeks back ...prior to that only ones I saw were in fenn traps.

At Alkborough, there were loads of them very close when I went. I've not been to Blacktoft either, but a mate went and got decent shots.
Apparently they are also at St Aidens, and occasionally seen, but in low numbers, at Old Moor - but I've never seen them there and it's local to me!

My favourite British mammal. An absolute bugger to find with a camera though.

I've seen a couple (or the same one twice) around the banks of my syndicate you came to Chris. Fleeting glances that gave me just enough time to distinguish them/it as a weasel.

A couple of years back I’d just got back in the car after a fish in the lode-with the camera now in the boot of the car- when I spotted a weasel dragging a rat twice its size along the path. The rat was so big that the weasel was having to rear up on its hind feet and dash in little bursts with it. It passed right under my car window. Incredible little predators.😎

You need the camera on you for opportunist shots  :laughs:
