Grain free dog food.

Post by zodiac »

Hey all, we've just got a wee dog, rescued from Eastern Europe. She's been fed grain free dry food for over a year, so want to continue with that as her main diet. Any links for the best place for bulk buying sacks of it?
Cheers

Wainwrights grain free dog food is very good. Expensive but worth it.

Just to confuse the issue, there's been reports from vets over the last few years that grain free diets are causing heart problems in dogs. You might want to read up before you decide mate ?

I would seriously consider raw feeding, rather than feeding any dry food. Dry food is mostly crap - basically like us living on cornflakes for every meal of every day - and is popular because of the convenience to the owners, not because of its nutritional value. Dogs are built to process protein, not carbs like rice, pasta etc., but they are cheap fillers, so provide maximum profit for the dry food producers.

Lots of good info here: https://dogsdiner.co.uk/raw-feeding/dogs-dinner/

Go raw, your dog will thrive and there's far less s**t to pick up which has to be a good thing!

Firm lumps too, so no slop to pick up, like you'd get with dried/canned food
