The story goes like this
My lad and his girlfriend asleep in his room
downstairs ,she goes for a pish at 1 in the morning ,I get woken up by screams and shouting,my lad phones me from his room to say there's a rat in the downstairs loo ,I go down to see the pair of them stood up on the bed with the quilt pulled up around them,
The fecking rat is now in the wall cavity scratching around at night resisting all attempts to coach it out,I wouldn't mind we've got a yorkie,I'm sure they were bred for rat catching, but he's getting on abit now is our Harry and he's Mutt and Jeff so not alot of use

No Kev , me mate used to net for eels on Romney marsh, over ten years he had two otters drowned in his fyke nets( very rare on the marsh you never , ever saw one)

Now fyke netting for eels is banned, so no more drowned otters , my large pike pit ,has an otter in it now , caught a 25 lb koi last summer with fresh otter bites on it

Every angler I speak to these days has tales of otters to tell. Pike anglers, carp anglers, salmon anglers. Everyone. There's one even been see on the local canal. Popped up in front of a guy fishing the pole and it didn't flinch.

They must breed faster than rabbits the way they are spreading...

Talked to a geezer from English nature dave , and a lady otter needs a territory of ten square miles for her self and kits , male otters just roam around as and when

Martin , the do gooders will tell you what they would like you to know. Their territory figures are nowhere near what they would try and have you believe , down here it's not unusual to see families of them less than TWO miles apart.

Cheers andy , luckily none were released in Kent , we have a few that live in Rother( come from the sea?) , but are very rarely seen , good job , but one of my lakes has a ditch behind it and a otter has started to take the carp. A roach angler I know saw him cross the spit one morning , but I have never seen a Kent otter
