Weight lifting with snakes
Does anyone else on the Pikers Pit keep snakes? This one is a bit of a handful but a gentle giant.

Re: Weight lifting with snakes
I’ve held two small snakes and both times been absolutely terrified.
My mate was breeding them for a few years. How anyone can sleep while sharing a house with that many snakes I have no idea.

I kept and bred snakes for years but have none now :( Carpet Pythons, Brazillian and Columbian Rainbows, Yellow Anaconda and others!

This was the last one I actually had, Rescued it from a family it had “outgrown”
Worked in the Reptile house at London Zoo for a couple of months many years ago, & then for an importer of reptiles. This was the last one I actually had, Rescued it from a family it had “outgrown”

Never seen the appeal of snakes as pets. Quite interesting to photograph though.

I don't have any anymore, my lady friend just couldn't sleep knowing they were in the next room.
I used to keep Vietnamese blue beauties, mangrove snakes, blandings tree snakes, various localities of green tree pythons, emerald tree boas, bredls carpet pythons, black headed pythons, woma pythons, green bush rats and rhino ratsnakes.

Boa constrictors are incredibly strong and yes could kill you potentially. However, this would only happen if you smeared your neck with a rat or rabbit which obviously you wouldn’t! To my knowledge there has never been a human fatality cause by a boa constrictor, unlike reticulated, Burmese, African rock python and green anaconda which are the 4 giants.
