Proud of my boy Cooper

Post by Scott »

Its taken 6 years for cooper to calm down so now he can give blood more easily

Im a big believer in giving blood as a human and think animals deserve life if they need a bit more blood to help them along

Please support for dogs ( dogs can only give blood if over 25 kg)

And dont show yourself up by not giving blood yourself .

I had no idea that dogs could give blood Scott, amazing and good for you and him.

My meds prevent me from giving I am afraid.

Will.

Hope your dogs ok

Im sure you would have thought about it if med didnt cause a stop.

Over the years ive never seen in vets about dogs giving blood , possible they advertise it but i dont see it.

When my dogs have needed a transfusion in the past it’s been from one of my own dogs, when the s**t hits the fan and they need a dog it can be under 25kg. They just take a little less from the doner.
Also a dog can have only one transfusion of unknown blood type before they need to get tested for what type they are as the second transfusion will kill them.

Nice one and glad to see it done properly . Shame greyhounds and I guess a few other breeds are kept in terrible conditions in farms for their blood in USA.
