When there caught in a trap they don't 1/2 squeal when you pick the trap up :laughs:

I have some big plastic rat traps in the garage and boy are they sensitive so I only have them in the garage don't want to catch any dicky birds.

Whats the best way to dipach them when there in a trap

Beware, it must be a approved humane method to be legal.
An air rifle is legal, so is tipping it into a kill sack to dispatch with a club. Drowning and electrocution is not.

Exactly, even though it’s a rat. It has to be “humane”

Have a few under the lodge at times and my method of control is to remove the food source by putting bait in sealed containers and not to feed the birds all year round, other than that I let them get on with it. After having a few rats as pets over the years, I have the opinion that there are really nice little animals but of course at times they need control and as said, this must be humane!

Is it a hessian sack because a placky one wouldn't last 2 mins with my big :hammer:

I could put it in my buddy's garage and let his terrier rip it to bits but thats not legal now

Or I could grab it buy its tail and hit it with a faking big brick but the little burgers won't keep still :laughs:

So if I put it in bucket of water in the garage where no one can see I'm ok

If your going to use an illegal method why post it where it can be read by anyone and used as evidence.

A kill sack is a small/medium sized hessian sack, you put the door end of the trap inside the neck of the sack then release the door so the rat or whatever falls inside. Screw the sack up and club the animal on its head. An ex-mil sandbag is ideal. An alternative to a club is to break its neck as you would a chicken as was demonstrated on my trapping course with the Forestry Commission.

You could despatch it while its still in the cage at point blank range Safety taken into account of course.

You could make or buy 2 metal combs which are pushed through the cage mesh to trap the Rat/ Squirrel into an ever decreasing area so that its movement is very limited so you can despatch it quickly and humanely.
