Exceeded login attempts
update: 31/03/2014
the problem has been narrowed down a bit more and it seems to be because you have requested a new password and the email was never sent, keep in mind though that emails from the forum can take up to an hour to be sent. try again or email me at the address below.
I see members get this problem now and again.
A message states:
You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below.
you must:
1. enter your username and password
2. answer the question.
3. click login
please have a look at the image I have uploaded:
If this still does not work please email me at andrew.croft@tacklesack.co.uk quoting your username and ONLY using the email address that you used to register your pikers pit account.
I will not respond to emails if the username and email address do not match to prevent trickery to obtain access to someones account.
Regards,
Andy

Andrew,
Any idea why suddenly I have to log in every time I look at the forum on my iPhone?

Re: Exceeded login attempts
may be a small issue with the way the iphone saved cookies to the device. try clearing your cookies, it will clear all cookies so will clear all other"remembered logins".
are you also sure you checked the "remember password" box before clicking the login button.

Re: Exceeded login attempts
Also had this problem Andy, tried recovering my password but said my username or password wasn't recognised so tried registering with my old username to be told that username was in use. Just had to register another account.

Re: Exceeded login attempts
thanks to Nev (and Gary) of all people Im fairly certain I know whats going on now. you have requested a new password (password reset) and never got the email from the forum with the new password it has sent. This is why it keeps asking for the Captcha again.
I think if anyone has ever slagged off Nev for his computing skills should now apologise profusely

Re: Exceeded login attempts
Hi Andrew,
I cannot log in from my new computer due to the same problem as in your original statement ( does not recognise my password / username). The only way I can send this email is by going back on my old computer that allows me access with my usual username and password. I have followed your original suggestion for exceeding log on attemps to gain access but still it will not let me in. I have also followed " I forgot my password " but have had no reply from your system.
Any further suggestions ?
Regards Neil

Re: Exceeded login attempts
I have reset the login attempts warning so you shouldnt get one again unless you enter the password wrong 3 times. have you forgotten your password ? check the spam folder for the password reset link.

Re: Exceeded login attempts
I have had to reregister because I kept getting unable to login.
I have forgotten/ cancelled my original email address ( due to it being compromised)
Is there any way of getting my previous post number 586 back.
Old User name angelshark.
Your help in the above will be very much appreciated.

Re: Exceeded login attempts
Is it possible to send me all my details to either of the following addresss :-
anthorn105@hotmail.com
tdi47@yahoo.co.uk
Or any other I might have registered to me.
Sorry to be a pain in the backside but I prefer the angelshark username.

Re: Exceeded login attempts
Ok. Can I have the angelshark one back. I’ll cancel the remainder.
The reason I have 3 accounts is because I have had repeated problems with the site. I keep getting the red statement that I have exceeded my login attempts.
Obviously there is still something wrong with the site settings.
