Cant attach photos to a pm just says invalid file

can you tell me what the file extension is.

Im sure it would say if the file was too large. invalid file would suggest to me its not an image format these are the only file types allowed:

Barry is correct...............reduce the size of your file...........(scale the picture down)............simples'.

"Invalid file" can show (the size of the file makes it invalid when it's bigger than the size set as the max upload for the Pit).
