Why can’t I see the option to attach a file / pic when posting a topic or replying ???

Because you are a new member with less than 5 posts your posts are moderated and you cannot upload pics. I think you are now over 5 posts and can now add pics.

When you click reply in a topic you will see under the 3 buttons (save draft / preview / submit) there is an attachments button. Click that

I'm now getting a message saying the files are too large whereas before no such issue. Is it me, is it software in my phone?

No its not the phone pal. Had to reduce the allowed uploaded file size when we moved to the new server as space isnt unlimited anymore and costs a wee bit.

Reduce the dimensions it will reduce the size. 1000 pixels wide should be enough.
