***CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING RULES REQUIRED***
IMO we need some simple rules on here which are already in place on other fishing forums.
ALL ITEMS MUST STATE THE PRICE REQUIRED INC POSTAGE
OFFERS ONLY ACCEPTED UNDER THIS PRICE IF REQUESTED BY THE SELLER LATER
THE LOCATION OF THE SELLER SO COLLECTIONS CAN BE ORGANISED
THE SELLER TO HAVE A MINIMUM OF 25 POSTS BEFORE THEY CAN SELL ANYTHING
What does everyone think?

Offer's a no no our forum is not an auction site can cause conflict, state a price.
25 posts to sell, any scammer can do 25 posts of rubbish entitling him to sell, the majority of the boys on here are known by one or more persons.

The guidelines are already laid out in "General Etiquette for Buyers and Sellers" at the top of the classifieds page.
As regards the trustworthyness of posters in the classifieds, a bit of common sense should weedle any scammers out... if not known then you can always ask for a reference from another member.
the golden rule of course is if in any doubt leave it alone!

Re: ***CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING RULES REQUIRED***
i dont think its a problem if a price is given with a "or nearest offer".
its the dutch auction/people trying to be clever that wont be allowed.

Re: ***CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING RULES REQUIRED***
It would be good if BUYERS didn't just post a message saying PM sent when the seller has multiple items for sale, lures being the obvious example. If you want to buy the Replicant or whatever then say you want to buy it on the thread, it does away with any confusion over who asked for it first and everyone can see at a glance if someone else has already asked for it.

What difference does it make anyway?
If you didnt recognise them , then it would certainly be foolish to send them any money.
The choice is yours

I have a username but I always have my name on all my posts in full view and I end my posts with my fist name and a smiley so you know it’s me.
But I agree we should have a time delay before you can sell anything

Re: ***CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING RULES REQUIRED***
I've had a quick look in the Admin Panel and I don't think I can stop people listing items with under 10 posts.
I tend to agree but as ever, Markyboy changes my mind!!
If someone has a low post count or is unknown, simply do the following:
1) Don't buy it
2) Meet and pay cash
3) Ask them to send you a Paypal invoice and use recorded delivery, Paypal charge 3.4% commission and recorded delivery is about an extra £1, as a buyer I'd happily pay that for piece of mind.
Maybe those last points need adding to the Sticky Thread that's on the For Sale section?

Re: ***CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING RULES REQUIRED***
Just been looking through the for sale items again. It seems there is still a few etiquette issues. I think the word etiquette should be removed & replaced with Rules.
For Sale Etiquette.... You SHOULD adhere to these.
For Sale Rules ....... You MUST adhere to these.
Perhaps only a tiny differance, But a differance all the same

I can only see Al's thread with an eBay link and that's ok because he was new and didn't realise.
Am I missing some others?

Re: ***CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING RULES REQUIRED***
I've been sort of clearing em up recently Ben, so a few have been amended to comply with forum rules.
