Promoting this forum ?

The old forum, even in the better times, was far from perfect but it gave a true snapshot of the Piking world, warts and all. I was never into the ridiculous unnecessary slagging sessions that occasionally happened but the forum had lots of good points too. The latest mis-moderation by the management was a joke though in my opinion and that is why I am happy to move over here and wish it success.

This forum looks like it's taking shape now, nice one Ben. I agree with some that it will need some basic moderation at some point but I think it will be successful.

Are there any thoughts on promoting this forum? New members would find the old forum through P&P magazine but that won't be the case here.

Can I suggest registering it (this is free to do) with Google and other search engines and asking those of us with bloggs or websites to put up a link. Just a thought

Hi Matt,

I agree that this is something that needs looking at.

I have regsitered with Google, Bing and Yahoo.

I have also got a friend at work who is good at keyword optimisation looking into things.

I know Mark Houghton has a link on his blog, perhaps we should ask others to do the same.

Maybe a cheeky mention in someone's PAC Convention talk would be beneficial?

That should do it Ben, once Google gets it the other search engines will find it too. The page will sit higher in search engine rankings with more links to it, so the more blogg / website links the better.

I'll add it to mine in the next day or so.

Dave if you have google on your android, simply put in 'pikers pit'. It should be top of the page

Well gents I've done a blog post on the new site, so hopefully some traffic will get directed from there....also added it to my recommended forums list....



Might be worth asking other bloggers to do the same?!?
