Back to the drawing board lads. The rods are taking up a wall that I need for more shelves.
Looking for inspiration for ceiling rod storage!

Can’t find a better pic of this idea. Ridged plastic pipe short section screwed to batten to hold butt then for tips cut one side so rods can enter. As below.

The other popular method I’ve seen is trellis.

So trying out ideas for rod storage. I'm happy with the base. It's just 70mm plastic down pipe cut in to sections. The frame holds it in place fairly snug but there's still a bit of movement side to side so the flexibility to accommodate big reels etc.
I'm not happy with the flimsy foam and plastic keepers for the wall. I'm going to look in to something else, whether I buy it or make it I'm not quite sure. Any suggestions?

That’s looking pukka Z! I’m guessing when you’re standing made up rods in there you’ll use every other bit of downpipe?

I would try and source some of those webbing straps that plug in as a double bayonet and unplug by depressing the switch on either side? These things?

That’s cute. I might just borrow that idea for my tackle room. Lots of wasted space using walls.

Something with the plastic pipes could work. I've got lots stuff lying about to make a few testers.
The trellis looks a bit fiddly for me. Might work with 1 piece baitcaster types but most of my rods are fairly big and heavy.

The O rings allow the rod to be pushed in held in place and removed one handed. Something crafted from wood could work.

When it’s pike season yes. As I only use the van to go fishing and it’s locked up inside. If I’m not taking the boat I do remove them

I've just opted for a few of these. I can set them any distance apart to suit shorter rods if need be.

That looks the easiest solution for ceiling mounting.

Are the hooks wide enough to comfortably fit a couple of rods on each side?

Edit: yes, I've just seen the size, they're enormous

I found it on eBay, was fitted to a Japan import and they obviously didn’t want the rack. So I used the parts I needed. It’s designed to fit against the headlining. I broke a retainer once, they used to have a eu dealer but I contacted Jap office and as you know they were super efficient new parts paid and dispatched within a couple of days.

Use spur shelving brackets for rod storage. With pipe lagging on the brackets . I’ve got some hanging from the ceiling and some on the walls.

Yes I've got a few of them. Maybe OK for lightweight one piece rods but no good for me.
