Your Favourite Coffee
Well what is your favourite brand and how do you make it?
Mine is Lavazza Rosa brewed in a Bialetti Kitty stove top expresso pot.
My reserve blend is Sainsbury's own Fair Trade Italian 4, slightly more depth of flavour than Rosa, a little cheaper but not always available.
I have tried 'pods' and found them to be filled with cheap, poorly roasted and stale.
Mornings I add a dash of milk, thereafter black with a glass of water, and never drink it after five.

Re: Your Favourite Coffee
I don't drink a lot of coffee, only a handful of mugs a month, unfortunately it creates synovial inflammation if I drink too much.
But when I do, it's hard to beat an nice Arabica Bourbon bean, drip filtered, black and strong.

I cant stomach filter coffee. We recently did a job for a posh twot who ran a coffee importing business. He insisted on serving me 'proper' coffee and took huge humbrage if yiou asked for milk or sugar. On the upside he also insisted on a follow up shot of single malt which I was happy to drink without milk and sugar.

It completely kills the flavour. I always either allow the kettle to stand for a minute or two after boiling, or if I'm in a hurry I'll put a drop of cold water in the cup with the milk and sugar (Don't take sugar in tea and never have but I can't enjoy coffee without a half a teaspoon of sugar) Obviously it's the complete opposite when making tea.A wet one and not too hot

I think there's an old maxim along the lines of, take the teapot to the kettle when making tea and take the kettle to the cup when making coffee.

It also has the added benefit of letting the lime scale settle in the kettle before pouring too, not a bad thing in hard water areas like me.Crackoff wrote: βTue Oct 01 2019 00:21 -That's the classic mistake 90% of people make when making coffee, i.e they pour boiling water on it as soon as the kettle has boiled.
