Can remember many a rude early morning awakening in barracks when the fire alarms went off and we all had to get outside, all because some smashed up clown too tight to buy a kebab, had come in and put bread in his toaster! In fact, 0500hrs Christmas morning 2000 was a particular delight as I recall, 100+ of us taking in the pleasure of the sub-zero temperatures for the best part of an hour or so in shorts and T shirts, whilst nursing hangovers and awaiting someone to clear the alarm then let us all go back to our beds...
A certain Chiseller was issued with a very big Port fine following that episode, if my memory serves me correctly!
