Pike Pool (89) Andrew Croft
Afternoon Poolsliders,
The evenings are drawing in and the nights are getting cooler. Autumn is definitely on the horizon.
A new piking season is dawning, and whilst some are seasoned pro's other are just getting started.
So sit back and enjoy, the highs and lows of a piking brother
Go easy, its his first time
Enjoy!!!

Nicely told Andrew, and well done on pulling yourself out from the bottom of the bottle! You've obviously found a more fitting escape in fishing. It's the one escape I always come back to. Pass my regards on to Andrew (Poach) when you see him next. Never met him, but has always come across as the sound and rock-steady sort on here.
Keep enjoying...

thanks for the kind words fellas, wasnt quite sure how it would go down to be honest. I had thought about doing an article for the pool for a wee while now and I thought the best one would be how I ended up where I am today

Crikey what a great read! That peice paints the picture quite clearly of you Andrew and I can see now, how and why you're easy to empathise with. That you've found kinship here doesn't surprise me one jot for I suspect that more than a few of us will have travelled similar paths?

Really enjoyable read Andrew. A good story well written.
Many things can become all consuming, thankfully you managed to see one of the most destructive ones before it really got hold and replace it with a positive one.
I suspect angling keeps lots of people on the staight and narrow in more ways than one.

Re: Pike Pool (89) Andrew Croft
A very insightful "pool" their
Everybody ticks different, but that's what's great about fishing that people from all walks of life can enjoy it and no matter what life throws at us a few quiet hours by some water and things can seem rosier! Fishing was always my thing as a youngster and kept me out of a lot of trouble and was my escape from things, fishings still their for me now but of less importance once family comes along

Tell you what, AC......that is easily one of the most enjoyable and involving Pool articles I've ever read.
I'm seriously glad you got out of that downward spiral and I'm seriously glad someone as decent as the Poachmeister came along when needed.
Write another, bud!

The next time someone says "it's only fishing", show them this story and they will maybe understand the benefits it can and does bring.
Glad you beat the depression Andrew, keep at the fishing and the rewards will come.
