The shoot local to me put a few ducks down on a small pond/marsh,the otters killed an ate a couple, which u would expect but they also "played" with a few, somehow they managed to skin the ducks heads n backs then let them go??about 20 in total had this treatment, wandering about half skinned poor buggers,
Suppose it's like a house cat playing with a mouse
Why do Fishery owners even own up to having them on their waters, keep your gob shut and slot them without any one even knowing, when the Badger became the most protected animal (by legislation) in the world what do you think the farmers did who were suffering from their handy work, damaging crops, constant digging and the threat of Tb they dug a big hole got the rifle and lamps out and sorted the problem themselves.

That certainly doesn't make it right, killing an animal just for doing what they do, handywork indeed when subsidies prop up any crop and any alleged threat of Tb is just that, alleged

Regarding the control of animals, there are some beautiful, cute and fascinating creatures that have been controlled for many years such as magpies, foxes and rabbits and in some places badgers, then there are also animals that people would wish to control such as otters and kites.
To my mind if the species is not in danger and causes a realistic nuisance or threat in some way then its ok to control them in a humane manner, bullies included i'm afraid, no matter how sweat they are
