Little Egret Press
Bought some really good books from them over the years.
They now seem to be printing a new book every week ... most of them reprints of their originals
and some strange prints.
Must be cheap to print the amount they are churning out.
Don't think I will deal with them again .. the words long and bargepole spring to mind.

They fill a niche I guess. The cheap paperbacks are there for those readers who don't want to pay a three figure sum for an out-of-print limited edition hardback.
Wayne, the new man at the helm of LEP, is reprinting a lot of titles but the actual number of copies printed is quite small. Enough to meet the demands but probably not enough to swamp the market in the long term.

Yes Dave .... but look at the tiny volume of sales he has on e bay for example and it appears that not many people want to read these reprints either

Re: Little Egret Press
If the production costs are low enough it might still be commercially viable. But I don't see why LEP churning books out is a reason to avoid dealing with them.

Probably made a wise decision though just revisited an earlier thread on the last LEP pike book the Incompleat Piker .. don't think your comments were too complimentary

I think they have a new pike title planned for the new year.
Has anybody read "grim" a pike tale, what did you think?

I used to shop at Tesco. Now shop at Lidl. All the money I save gets spent on fishing books.

Re: Little Egret Press
Bugger all wrong with reprints I have 2 or 3 from LEP and pleased with them.
I read books and as much as i prefer a nice shiny new book the contents read are still the same as a dog eared and battered book. So a reprint gives me a nice new shimy book and much cheaper than an original print which maybe silly money.
At the moment most of my books fishing and other subjects are original and some seem to be selling anything from double to 4 times the price, the thing is i would have to get someone to buy it at this inflated price and should i do so i would obviously be down on a book.
Everyone to thier own, but enjoy reading your books thats ultimately what they are for wether they are brand new, well worn or reprints.
Regards
Martin
