Funnily enough my boys the same as far as the garden concerned,he'll tolerate the sparrows but nothing else,
He runs from the bath ,but loves it when in it.
I honestly think that he believes his one of us and not a dog
His got a few friends over the local park but ignores most others.
When he was a pup he destroyed the house when left alone (ate window sills, chewed doors , plaster off the walls )
I don't dare add how much that all cost, but that's the joy of owning a Shar-pei.
as a pup we bought him a cage as advised , he even destroyed that.
Would l change anything, no ,not one bit ,10 years on he's stopped eating the house ,
But still gets the hump when left alone and on occasions destroys the garden instead just like a naughty kid.
I can't think what life would be like without him, after all "he is daddy's boy "
