Lumby's cornered the market. Monopolies and mergers maybe poking their noses in :laughs:

In this day and age it’s nice to be able to tell someone what you’d like them to make for you so to go to a craftsman and ask this is what I am looking for with a little of this and a bit of that and then have something that looks (and I'm quoting my other half here) sexy, yes she said the fishing rods look sexy I emailed this to Mr Lumb he got a chuckle out of it and said it was a first.

I look forward to the years of angling I will get from these, just need something over 30lbs to properly christen each one of them hahaha

Big plus from me for DLST.

Ist pair I had were in June 1991, pair of P1's. Soon followed by pairs of P2's and Z1's, Baitblasters and X1's and a 13ft 3.5 tc he made for me for drifter fishing.

Can't even think how many lure rods I've had/still got. Sneaker, Seeker, Raiders x 2, Fooler, Reaper, Wizard stick, Sledgehammers x 2, Axiom and a few I've forgotten as I know we once counted 15 I'd had from him.

They're just the predator rods.

Also, the best Spod rod and marker rod I've ever used plus 3 pairs of various Specimen rods that are in regular use.

All rods have been well used and caught me some decent fish over the years.

Considering a 3rd Avon 11ft 1.25 for next year to add to the pair I have now and if plans come to fruition, a pair of D3's for a couple of venues in mind.

The advantage of owning these rods are that if by any misfortune a breakage happened, I know I can always get a replacement section made up by Dave. More than can be said for "off the peg" rods that change on a regular basis with spares soon running out.
The world's full of smart phones and stupid people.

I purchased two P2 ground blanks.

Full AA cork handles by Mark Tunley (because he is local to me).
Ti guides wrapped personally.

Light to carry and a pleasure to use.
Plenty of low end power and handled a big river fish comfortably.

Highly recommended

Another thumbs up for Dave's rods. I have five.
A pair of Z1's which, although designed for Zander fishing (I think?) make brilliant short to mid range carp rods and are great for whacking out a heavy feeder for Barbel.

A BB350 which I acquired second(maybe third) hand. I think I own the very rod that caught the 20lb+ Carp which is in the description of the rod on his website.
This is a lump of a rod, good for casting out bigger baits, a decent rod but not my favourite, my favourite rods are..........

....A pair of P1's, these are so nice to use and look lovely, good for casting and playing fish. I've had mine over fifteen years. I recently re-rung these rods adding a 40mm Butt ring and a 12mm tip, moving the rest up one for better casting, I'm sure Dave would tell me I shouldn't have done this and the difference will be negligible but I feel I'm getting better distances now. The only downside I can see to doing this is the fact that finish on the whipping doesn't look as pretty as Dave,s.
