Net float

Post by SheffSean » Sat Dec 16 2017 15:22

I dare say this has been done before but I thought I’d share my latest little money saving idea just case anyone else would like to make one, it’s a net float which I made from stuff I had languishing in my cellar, to be more specific a piece of 22mm pipe lagging and some gorilla camo tape.

Sorry fella's  it was either the camo tape or black glossy duct tape, I thought the Pike would appreciate the camo tape better :laughs:

I found Poundland sold long brightly coloured foam (looks like pipe lagging) that is used as a swimming aid. Slides on and can be secured with a couple of cable ties. £1 gets you enough for about four nets.

I've never found a net float that actually floated my net. Looked good, but a waste of time.

I must admit I was quite surprised how well the pipe lagging I used did actually keep the net just below the surface and at the perfect angle to net the Pike I caught.
