Re: Hooks for perch
I like a medium wire size four or six single but I find I loose quite a few on a lip hooked single so if you can find some a smallish size vb double hook is my fav

Re: Hooks for perch
I found the best way with lives was a small treble in the dorsal but as Si says, a double would be fine.
For lobworms, super specialist has always been my hook of choice.
Cheers Alan

Agree with Alan , would ideally dorsal hook, one pit near me I fished, I pretty much doubled my hook up rate by doing that, lip hooking was loosing me considerably more fish than I banked

Another vote for super specialist, their nice and strong but also light so they don' t knacker the livos out as much when lip hooking on a roving setup.
Theres one or two phoneys round here ..

Re: Hooks for perch
im surprised no ones mentioned circle hooks for the liveys, I'm not going to say ive loads of experience fishing liveys for perch coz I haven't but the bit ive done so far ive had a decent hook up ratio fishing paternosta'd baits.
Like I say I'm a novice at it by any stretch but I was advised this by a well respected friend and its worked for me so far. The hooks ive been using are mustard circles. this video was released shortly after I began using them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkWtenxbkIo looks like a good argument in favour.
As for worms yeah super specialist or kamasan animal for me.
