Thanks Guys comments appreciated.

Yes I have a friendly Farmer who has given me a small area around the farm to set up a feeding station, its the only way in my opinion to get this sort of images.

I might post a few more know I know you like them :boing:

ey look the same to my untrained eye. :scratch:
Too much sharpening and you get a 'halo' around contrasting edges. Most noticeable on images which have been heavily cropped and then sharpened. Bird photographers are often guilty of over sharpening in their quest for feather detail. Yet when we look at actual birds we don't register the fine feather detail.

Even if not done to such an extreme that yu get the halos it can still look fake. To my trained eyes.

Backgrounds are just depth of field, distance behind the subject.

The green is grass, Hedgerow and Oak trees.The dark area on the Greenfinch is shadow from an Oak tree on the hawthorn hedge, if that makes sence.
