Favourite Cocktail

Post by Ben »

I love Cocktails in the Summer, I’m just enjoying a Zombie which is delicious:

25ml Bacadi Carta Blanca Rum
25ml Bacardi Carta Oro Gold Rum
25ml Pussers Navy Rum
15ml Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum
15ml De Kuyper Apricot Brandy
15ml Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge
75ml Fresh Pineapple Juice
75ml Passion Fruit Juice
30ml Fresh Lime Juice
Dash of Grenadine

Mixed in a shaker, served with two giant balls of ice in a pint tankard topped up with a little club soda, fresh pineapple, lime and passion fruit as garnish then quaffed through a glass straw

Goes well with a Montecristo cigar to help basque in the glory of being European Champions for a sixth time

My present favourite is a Mojito.

Glass 1/2 full of ice
Equal measures of Campari, Vermouth and Gin then topped up with soda and a slice (or dash) or orange.

If you like sour this is the drink for you.

It’s sh*te now it’s brewed in Luton, nothing like the German stuff. Same goes for Stella, Grolsh, San Miguel & a load of other beers that used to be imported but are now churned out by InBev.

My favourite cocktail is my homemade Sloe (or Damson) gin, cranberry juice & Prosecco/Brut.

When "Hooch" first came out in the late 90's we used to make Shandy out of it with Stella, became quick the thing in my local for a while.

As far as proper cocktails goes a properly made Long Island takes some beating

Used to love a 'Tequila Sunrise' as a kid. Haven't had one in thirty years or more though. I think it was something like tequila, grenadine and something else but I can't remember what. All I do know is, being someone who has never really liked the taste of alcohol it was easy to drink.
