Lee Lures Boilermaker and mini boiler maker

Post by keeponchucking »

Has anybody got any experience of using these musky lures for pike?
My sister is coming home from the states next month and was considering getting her to bring a couple home for me to try for pike.

$64.99  pricey !
Never seen or heard of these before but can’t see why they wouldn’t work for pike. Some good colour combos to choose from too.

774 5/0's are a bit on the agricultural side for here.

Remember that topwaters in the 'States sort out the bigger fish but quite the opposite is the usual case here.

There will be big fish taken on topwaters here every year but chances are you will get low doubles/high singles.

Speaking as a "Big Lure" guy in relation to our UK Essox, it makes you wonder if the (Yank) "plot is being lost" here, or am I happy in my ignorance concerning what might be considered today's "mainstream" market?

That's about £230 at today's rates! FFS). :afraid:

For "keeponchucking"........... lose one of those and there's a heartbreaker' for you.

I'd not be throwing it attached to a fluorocarbon leader. I'd guess they're mostly bought for bragging rights or by collectors.

Or maybe they come complete with a 50" musky. :joker:

This is the most expensive freely available lure that I'm aware of. You're looking at about £400, and yes, people do chuck them!

Very true Chico.....Pike ain't muskys and you'd probably be doing more damage than good pulling the noisy stuff through a swim.

Lots of work involved in making the lure
But would you pay 400 for it ?

Well, the pricepoint and perceived exclusivity does their advertisement for them :)
No lure is worth £400 in my world. Hell, being the cheapskate I am I am hard pressed to justify £20. I know I am just one bad cast into a tree or or unlucky snag away from losing it.
And honestly most of my £2 Chinese off-brand lures work and produce just as good as my £30 ones.

Nope. As the autopsy video shows the guts of the lure though, I might have a crack at making one
