Another decent trip out with me old mate Tim.

Post by Antony »

Had a great time catching codling, pollock, whiting, coalfish and a shed load of mackerel from his boat up in North Yorkshire.Dozens of fish went back as I am becoming more and more into the catch and release trend πŸŽ£πŸŸπŸŸπŸ‘

Brilliant, thanks for sharing.
Nothing like a nice coalie on light line tackle.
Even better is a 20 on 30lb with a good tide running, remember those days Kev?

Look after thise mackies and you'll be well set for winter, and dont forget fish heads make excellent pre.

I used to make stock from my Bass heads, used it in my smoked haddock Risottos, really really yummy.
Now we are only allowed one keeper per day and I wont take a fish over 4lb the size makes it impractical.

Sand eeling with a small lead flying collar rig was my favourite method Mike. Had some clonkers. I used to use a 6oz uptide rod ...lots more fun than winching them in.
