The first seventy years by Archie Braddock

Post by steve28fishing »

Really enjoying this some real nuggets of information particularly if you fish the Trent.
Don't think Archie will see his 80th birthday again but still regularly gets out on the bank
and catches.

My copy arrived today, I had a quick flick through a few of the chapters that instantly caught my attention and yes, this is a very, very good book! Archie has long been a bit of a fishing hero of mine, I think his exploits in the bait scene were incredible. :worthy:

Was reading it a bit more yesterday afternoon amidst the chaos of the two kids intermittently kicking off.

Reading about Archie's early days, its cool how many of us anglers share similar passions, fishing, wildlife, motorbikes, music etc.

I'm really enjoying the book Delboy.

Went to a book fair in Market Harborough yesterday and a dealer had a copy selling for £120 !!! Walked back past the stall a couple of hours later and the dealer said he'd sold it for the full asking price. Must be quite sought after now although that price seems a bit ridiculous.

It's a very good book Steve but £120 does seem a fair old whack for it.
