Just registered so short intro
My name is Bart, i'm 48 years of age and fished for pike since my childhood.
When i started specimen hunting for pike this was with livebait paternosters and when the ban came on using livebait in the Netherlands from where i am, i continued with deadbaits until i dicoverred jerkbaits, fished those for a decade or so and now i'm back to bait fishing again, slower paced fishing is, and less heavy gear.
England and the way they fished for pike always interested me, on my shelf there are the books from eddie turner and the classics the predator becomes the prey and in pursuit off.. among others.
Over here the media pushes everbody to lure fishing so there is not much to find on bait fishing, so i started looking and found this site.
There are a lot of topics so i can read a lot, maybee post some reactions too.
This season i hope to catch a lunker, maybee this weekend, which is always to far away.
Kind regards Bart

I know what you're thinking, but being that this is a St Croix Big Dawg, the most powerful baitcaster in the world, and would instantly cross your eyes, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well do ya, pike?

Welcome! Interesting to see how the fish respond, lure fishing is so big over there and lots of big fish are caught using that method!
