The River of Dreams by Lani Waller
A fly fishing book with stories of fishing for huge steelhead on the Babine River in BC and other fly species around the world. Probably my favourite fishing book of all time. Talented writer who vividly through his descriptions takes you to the places with him and conveys the passion of fishing with humour and wider life observations.

I'll give this a punt, the reviews I've read online are good too. Currently reading a book about fly fishing for multi species, I enjoy writers from places I doubt I'll ever visit.

Drawn a blank with this in the UK apart from the Kindle version, that's not my thing. Some of the postage from overseas is criminal.

That's unfortunate. Just have to keep a look out for it in the UK.
I got mine when it was published in the USA and it is a treasured book.
Although about fishing it is also provides a persuasive argument for conservation and much more as an aside.
