My sisters garden use to have plenty
They’d lay on the rocks at the back of her garden laying in the sun
Lovely creatures
Regards
Tom

Re: 5th one this morning
The last one I saw was barely alive, lying in the middle of the road outside my house, something had been putting holes in it .

Only ever seen one in my life and that was when i was a kid on holiday somewhere near Christchurch or Ringwood. A fascinating creature being a legless lizard.

Re: 5th one this morning
We have them in our garden, usually in the compost heap but occasionally under stones etc. Unfortunately one of our chickens was running round with one in its beak the other day,it must have slithered under the electric netting. I managed to catch the chicken but only a flick to the side of the head would make it let go!
Thought poor slowy was a goner, was unmoving, eyes shut and didn’t appear to be breathing. I watched it for a while then thought sod it , opened its mouth a bit and blew in!
It gulped a couple of times, opened one eye and moved a bit so I put it under a slab where it could recover. It was gone the next day.Was it playing dead or did the ‘kiss’ of live do the trick,I’ll never know!

You probably shocked it into life when you brought it up to your mug, it will have thought you were going to eat it .
