I present the wonderful Greg Ovens. Enjoy.

Anyone come across other 'unusual' casting?

How can anyone be so cack-handed :laughs:

He casts like a three year old girl.

He's worse than Matt Hayes and he's cack handed.

Seen plenty of what I call 'cack handed right handers' , especially in US, where they cast with right, then reel with right.
I know,i know, it's how you're taught & what works for you - just looks odd & inefficient to my eyes.

Worse Ive ever seen is using a fixedspool upside down.
Almost as bad Is right arm casting then changing the rod to the left side to wind the reel handle with the right hand.

Exactly how one of my mates' missis casts when carp fishing. I'm under strict instruction never to take the p**s out of it (I do still have a sly chuckle). Robson Green - there's a fella who can cast  :laughs:

When he first started out he was cringeworthy but after umpteen years of trying and a few million quid he became a half decent caster
Yeah?Did ya?

I wonder how many rods he's accidentally thrown in the water? :laughs:

You say that - many moons ago I was carp fishing on a lake which is located within a National Trust site... as I sat there, a small party of mongs accompanied by some carers rucked up. They gathered into a group along the bank close to where I was and much to my surprise, the carers started to dish out fishing gear. This is going back a bit, but the gear took the form of the Woolworths fishing kits - 6ft rod, a float, some line and hooks, etc. So, the carers set up their flock, threading line and baiting hooks with worms... they all looked very excited and everyone was having fun... then one of the carers demonstrated casting and they all then stepped up to the bank - first chap literally threw his rod into the drink like a javelin, the next one did the same and the third cast went backwards, ending up in a tree behind the fella. Then one of them pulled the worm off the hook and ate it. I am still laughing now I think back over it. But hey, they were p*****g themselves too - as for the carers, they didn't look so happy. LOL. I actually ended up lending a hand, even managing a few perch, they loved it. Anyway, it was hilarious.

Not casting, but changing rod hand to pick up line. Looks odd to me or is this common?

Never seen it before.

Fished around a bit and seen some superb anglers in action (worst was a Spaniard gilling a carp to unhook it).

It's odd. But he is fishing for 'micro pike' which is even odder - unless he's fishing for bait.
