Anyone recommend a thin wire for Ultra Lite Perch fishing?
Soft plastic etc.

I either use 12lb single strand Ti which I think is about .25, or I use 15lb drennan soft strand which is about the same.
They do a 10lb too which is obviously a bit thinner.

Cahira nitinol in single or multistrand, both are excellent.

Re: Thin wire for Perch
the 10lb wire is very thin , if you have a high population of pike in your venue , they can bite through it and have done in the past
i now mostly use 15lb for perch fishing

I use the lightest strain of cahira for ultralight lures because it doesn't hinder the action/movement.15 or 20lb afw for livebaiting or larger lures.
Mmmmmmmm yes

In case it helps to have another option… I can’t speak highly enough of the Novasilk 49-strand, 12 lb I use for perch and chub deadbait traces and
perch lure leaders. Limp, knottable, neutral in colour, tough and ultrareliable, if a wee bit expensive.

Correction: pretty reasonable (£7.95 for 5m) compared to Nitinol!

It’s well worth having a look at Fox Rage 49 - I made some traces from this after getting a bite through on Drennan 10lb when a big pike took out the small pike which had snaffled my 5cm shad on a 3g jig head as I was almost within netting range. Scared the daylights out of me.
