fieldfare

Post by one eye jack »

Well the fieldfare have arrived, probably not a surprise to you country boys, but I'm innercity in a public park..so was pleased to see a dozen or so feeding on berry's in the local park, mixed with blackbirds and mistle thrush, no redwing yet, plenty of goldfinch goldcrests and caught sight of a water rail after following its call, and as a bonus a cetis warbler...keeping a eye out for the redwing

None here yet but they can't be far away. The pinkfoots have been back for a month.

The Field fares have been up here for a good few weeks now, they have already stripped the berries from some of the Mountain Ash trees close to my house, It's nice to see them in the morning when I am out with the dogs.

I've got a big Rowan right in front of my window which is popular with the fieldfare and redwing as it gets colder. Saw my one and only nuthatch in it too.
