Cameras

Post by Chris Hammond »

I’ve got a camera set up on the badgers sett again in the hope of capturing the moment this year’s cubs first venture above ground.
I’ve also added another to try and nail some footage if the polecats this morning.
I have a third one set up to get footage if the resident buzzards in the wood and collected my first batch of captures this afternoon. This is the first clip I’ve uploaded to YouTube. There are at least another twenty to look through yet.

Nice. Do you have wild polecats nearby? Or escapees.

As in escapee ferrets?
I’m fairly sure the ones I’ve found dead in the road and the ones I’ve seen are wild polecats. Chiefly because of the numbers of them.

If you were/are the biggest idiot the World has ever seen you would be able to use it Del.
Like all camera stuff you can get cheep ones, Temu do one for £11.95 but you can pay hundreds for one and YES you could get one for £60 that would do the job.
If you want Ultra FHD I think you might struggle but for something like I used above there is one out there for you mate.

Del, I got 2 for about £60 of eBay for my kids to set up at the local nature reserve and they work ok, the pictures are not as high quality as the original post, but they get some decent shots and short videos.
They are cheap enough not to worry about leaving them out for a week or two. Make sure you factor in the cost of a memory card too.

Thanks boy , how much is the memory card then ? And do you then need a lead to transfer to your laptop ?

The memory cards will be from £10 depending on the size, we view ours by connecting the camera directly to a tablet( I presume it will connect to your laptop too) but you can download the pictures easily.
