As an interesting aside, the links from those old zinc chains were used by Creek Chub as hook hangers for their through-wired larger Pikie Minnows :clown: :tea:
Are you after John's lure nerd hat? :laughs:
I`d never be able to "out-nerd" John mate :laughs: :laughs: :laughs:

I dunno Mark, that's an awesome bit of nerd knowledge! :worthy: :laughs:

It`s more a case of reverse engineering how they made them and sussing out the parts they used, rather than pure nerdiness John (its a lure maker thing)

Must admit, it`s a rather clever use for an old bog chain :laughs: :laughs: :laughs:

It's odd, but I knew what those 'hangers' looked like, but never made the bog chain connection. :red:

This re-purposing has been a common feature. Some of the original jerkbaits used plain old split pins as hook hangers. There are other examples, I'm sure.

I`d wager a lot of components back then were originally designed for something completely different than luremaking purposes Dave.

No doubt. Gotta start somewhere.
