The bottom two are Bridun 'Rota baits' Jon. 1980s/90s vintage.

Two brothers from Isle of Mull Brian and Duncan. They made some pretty high quality lures excellent Mepps type lures and a nice copy of the Abu krill.

Not in Mr Milfords class, but these were among a batch I bought last week. I'll be treating the Mepps Bass Killer to a new skirt, the Gladding Intrepid Flasha will get a single hook (Trout Res rules) and will both get some use. The other 2 I haven't identified - they have a slim metal bib & a rotating body & should create quite a bit of disturbance on a quick retrieve. Maybe another one for the Trout to chase.
I think the bottom ones are called something like Rotabait.

Showing my age here, but I remember the Intrepid lures being introduced. :madmick:

They appeared on a episode of Hooked On Scotland years ago. Paul Young then went and caught some lovely trout trolling some of their mepp type lures up in Torridon. 👍🏻

The only Heddon in pic 5 is the little Sonar Jon. They never used big screw eyes like the ones on that middle bait.

There's nothing special there that would tempt me to shell out £65.

I think the one you are referring to John is a Fred Arbogast Lure, from around the early 1980s.
If I can find/remember the name I will let you know, I picked a couple of them up not long ago for a fiver.

Will.

The mystery continues . . . . .

Found a picture of an Arbogast 'Tru Shad' (top) on eBay US . It is very similar, but not the same bait?

Worth 'cherry picking' if you can get it for a couple of quid Jon, but I don't think it's a top-end collectible. Nice though.

A batch of metal, stands me at £14 - nothing much here worth anything, but the English made 'Roxo' caught my eye - enough to make me buy the batch. It could do with a clean, but I've not seen one before so had to buy it. Any info on that and also the Hopkins John?

It's a Allcock's Holroyd-Smth 'ROYD' spoon Jon. There's a whole run-down on them on page 9 of this thread.

The R. L. Hopkins is American and difficult to date as they have remained virtually unchanged since 1949. Still in production.

A nice Heddon 'Head on Basser' joined my collection today, courtesy of Mr Houghton.

The original #8500 model (4 1/4", 7/8 oz) was introduced in 1922. The two pictured both have 'L Rig' hardware, which dates them no later than 1926.

The top one was from Mark (Red Scale '9H').
I already had the one below (Yellow Perch 'L').

The popular perch pattern was made throughout the long history of this plug, but the red scale was catalogued only briefly, during the early 1920s. :pipe:

I've just bought this! Am I mad? (Rhetorical question!! :laughs: ).

We'll have to see. I've been given a great tip on how to restore 'bloomed' plastic lures and will be trying it out on this one.

FB_IMG_1585267491628.jpg
Apparently it also works on lures with blooming on the inside too (like Snipers and Cisco Kids). I'll post an update when I get my hands on it in a few days. :pipe:

Came across this Heddon Vamp Spook “sperm” today whilst
Searching for a 🍓 spot

Unusual not to have eyes painted

Seen a couple online where others have added paint to make it look like a rattle snake.

It's one of the more modern 'Limited Edition' special Vamp colours Andy. They reissued some of the old classic patterns, together with a few new 'odd ball' ones.

That one is a nod to the old 'snake' or 'wave' designs. The colour code is SOUL (which is cool! ).

I've got a couple from that series myself Andy. The top one is pattern 'KCH'. An original issue one in that particular colour would be going nowhere near the water, but that one might well be!
