Fox rage 10ft boat rods

Post by edbeef » Sun Jan 13 2019 21:15

Bought these in September and only just took them out for the first time today.

The tip snapped clean off between the 2nd and 3rd eye. All I was doing was pulling line through against the resistance of a C3 loose clicker to setup the float stop, not even clipped a lead on!!

Bought them from tackle UK so I've messaged them and we'll see what comes back but I really want to ship them off and never see them again. Never going to trust them after this!

£70 a piece in something I can't use. Pfffff

Anyone else had a problem like this?

Sounds like they’ve been damaged in transit

Bought a pair of these secondhand not long ago,I put them through their paces today ,took fish to mid doubles on them and found them ok , if a little stiff ,but seemed solid to be honest. As said above, could they have been damaged somehow in transit?

They came together in a carpet roll size cardboard tube so not likely.
Terrified they'll try and pin something on me but I've only had them out once and that was only the butt section to spool up. I kept them in tip and butt protectors since setting them up.

My overwhelming instinct is that I want rid, imagine that happening when playing a PB. I don't like it... Never broken a rod before.

They don't seem to have any boat rods in stock at all so a swap or replacement seems unlikely.

I guess I'll just have to sit tight till they respond for now.

Cheers Ady. I've switched to multis on the ol' boat rods otherwise I'd have taken them off you today!

Just as an update, Tackle UK contacted me so say Fox will send out a new one for me and take away the broken one.
No time lines unfortunately but looking promising
